These two different types of printers do the same. Both print, but go about it in a different way. There are significant differences in the drivers to and work they are obligated to do.

Laser printers are designed for use in an environment of heavy work load. The cost per print is much less expensive compared to Inkjet models. Laser printers use a dry mono-component toner cartridge and a laser that triggers the image on a drum inside the toner cartridge.

Inkjet printers are designed for different workloads. They are designed more to a workstation, such as the desktop of an individual or low volume type of work. The ink or toner is expensive. Most are slow, so to use in a high volume application is expected to drive a madman for the report of a hundred pages. Let me say something about the cost of inkjet cartridges ink. I read an article that said the inkjet cartridges are more expensive by the weight of imported Russian caviar. Inkjet ink using a liquid that is sprayed onto the paper. All have a railroad scanner that comes and goes, taking the distribution of the ink cartridges.

I read a that several people post comments. They said that Hewlett Packard has really gone downhill lately with the quality of its printers. They were commenting on HP LaserJet 4, a laser printer very popular in the past. It is ten years, but is a very reliable machine. I still use one in my office!

They were compared with several new HP inkjet. These are completely different machines for completely different applications. If you want to compare this team to another product HP use HP laser jet 4250. You really can not compare these either. Memory, speed and choices are made for the latest printing applications. Remember that the HP LJ-4 was built around 386 computers. By the way, my HP LJ-4 works fine with XP.

The price of inkjet printers is driven by consumers who want something cheap. You get what you pay. It creates economic market for inkjet printers. They work well, but if they break are not designed to repair. They are known as available printers. Not all printers are inkjet printers available. The inkjet is really moving and will continue to fill more of the market. Speed has been a problem, but now some are designed to maintain the speed of laser printers. Color HP inkjet color prints are also fabulous. Even a person with a limited budget can do great presentations, photos and brochures.

When you purchase a printer, you should always consider the type of application that is used for. Do not buy an inkjet when you will be printing hundreds reports. Do not buy a laser printer if you print two or three jobs a day. If you look at cost per impression and the monthly volume you can not go wrong. Hewlett Packard are among the best you can buy, but you must use it in the right application.
