Which inkjet printer uses the cheapest ink cartridge?

My HP 4480 is an ink hog, empties cartridges like crazy (and they’re pretty expensive, too, around $13 for a single black). What are some good inkjet printers (preferably w/ scanner or fax) that prints both color and grayscale that uses really cheap ink (without sacrificing number of prints)?

$13 is cheap!

Or, get a color laser (on sale). It’ll probably be cheaper in the long run.

It may not have all the features of the more recent models, but if you are just looking to print documents, then a cheap last generation printer may be the perfect solution for you.

Then you have the cheap printers of this generation. Are these a good purchase or not? If it was made recently and is priced extremely low, then you will need to read some reviews. User reviews are the best source of information when it comes to computer peripherals, and you can find many of them on the internet. Some of the best places are the auction websites where they are sold constantly. People will leave reviews and rank the product.

So when you look at the product ranking, see whether or not people have had good things to say about it. Whether or not it has held up, passed the test of time, or even worked period. There are some cheap inkjet printers that will print with very poor quality, and these are the ones to avoid. You might however find an extremely cheap inkjet that performs very well. It’s just impossible to tell without trying in this day and age. Keep in mind that a cheap printer won’t have all the features you might be looking for but at the very least it will do its basic job.
